I think I'll like MY new home very much

The woman also showed me pictures of other things she has already in place and just waiting for me at MY new home.

A a bag of cat food specially made for senior cats like me. A good litterbox (very important!). And a fresh water flowing fountain. Thoughtful of her, I appreciate it.

I know, I know. Some things are missing, such as toys and a post. I can't really scratch, because of what those (BLEEP) did to me, but I'm pretty sure I can have fun with a tall post with cozy cubbies.

I'll discuss this later with the woman.

Protocol

Now, of course she could not simply come here and take me as if I was a teddy bear on a store. I'm a living being - a VERY dignified one, as a matter of fact - and there's a protocol to be followed. So the woman submitted a formal adoption application form, with references and all, and as soon her background check is cleared the people from the shelter will drive me to MY new home.

I've a feeling I'm gonna like it.

Well. Then this woman comes to the shelter, rubs my chin, rubs my back, I like her, but... here's the great news. She brought pictures of MY things she already has got at MY new home.

I really appreciate it.

This bed looks very comfy and strategically positioned to allow me to be very close to the most important things: the laptop and the remotes. Smart lady.

Nice meeting you, I'm Tango (The Mighty)

Yeah, you wouldn't believe if someone told you a cat could stare back at you with a *really* intelligent and inquisitive look. Well, I'm the living proof we can.

This is my story, which this woman read at the Animal Aid PDX site.

"It’s hard to be a 15-year-old, declawed cat and suddenly find yourself as an outdoor-only kitty. Tango’s former family banished him from the home, and when one of our wonderful volunteers realized what had happened and that other cats were beating him up, she came to his rescue.

She persuaded his family that this handsome Chocolate Point Siamese mix should come to Animal Aid where he would receive lots of love and care while waiting for a home to spend his retirement years.

This affectionate guy starts purring when he sees a visitor coming and does a hearty flop-and-roll combo, and then reaches out with his paws. If you’re not paying enough attention to him, he will hold your hand and very gently nibble on your knuckles. Then he will rub his big head against your hand for a scratch or two. What a charming boy!"

--------

As per what I've heard, this other woman got SO ANGRY when she read at the Animal Aid PDX site about what those (BLEEP) did to me - raising me as a house cat, declawing me, and then banishing me to live outside now that I'm a 15yrs old senior (Ooooh, if I only still had my claws...) - that she decided she would try and ask ME for a chance to share my existence with her.

Yeah, so, next thing I know is that this human visited me today at the shelter and we kind of really clicked. I followed her all around, especially after she woke me up with a really nice chin rub. Dear me, she's good at it, I must admit.

But I guess I must have given her TOO much attention, because she tried to pick me up. Oh, the nerve. Good grief, woman! I'm a dignified senior, not a kitten.

Apparently I still have a thing or ten to teach her (*sigh*), but all in all, I foresee good things coming.
